Donor Development Specialist

We are seeking a part-time Donor Development Specialist to work closely with the Executive Director to plan and implement a development and communications plan that will encourage, maintain, and increase the philanthropic support necessary to meet the immediate and long-term needs of Care Net SOMD.

This position is part-time, 15 hours per week and will work primarily in the St. Mary's County Center in Lexington Park, MD.

The ideal candidate will:

• Be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
• Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to the pro-life position and sexual purity
• Agree with and be willing to uphold the Commitment of Care and Competence, Core Values, Statement of Faith, and policies of the organization
• Have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a helping field, or equivalent experience
• Have at least 1 year of ministry experience as a volunteer or employee
• Have experience in marketing, fundraising, event management, and public relations/development
• Exhibit strong skills in communication, public speaking, writing, effective media relations, Excel spreadsheets, desk top publishing, and PowerPoint
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills including the ability to listen, be patient, stay calm and composed during a variety of client and staff interactions
• Be able to work independently and as a member of a team
• Have strong contacts in the community and knowledge of business and faith community characteristics
